4 militants of Hizbul Mujahideen killed in encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam
Four militants belonging to Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district. Out of the 4, three militants have been identified as Fayaz, Adil, Mohd Shahid. They are all residents of DH Pora in Kulgam.
On Saturday morning, a joint team of Army’s 34RR and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a cordon and search operation in Hardmanguri Batapora area in Kulgram district after getting specific information about presence of some militants in the area. The militants opened fire at the security forces during the search operation.
“The group was behind civilians killings during lockdown, hence we focused on developing intelligence and neutralised them. The team under SP Kulgam has worked well with security forces,” DGP Dilbagh Singh told India Today.
The four militants had earlier killed two civilians in Kulgam on Wednesday. The two victims were identified as Siraj Ahmad Gorse and Ghulam Hassan Wagay. Both are residents of Nandimarg.
