The marketing days have been relaxed in Kohima while permitted commercial establishments allowed to remain open on all weekdays from 7 am to 4 pm with immediate effect, Kohima deputy commissioner Gregory Thejawelie said on Thursday. He said the decision was taken in consultation with the District Task Force, Kohima Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Kohima Municipal Council.

However, commercial establishments falling under the categories of shops selling secondhand items, barber shops and salons, tea stalls and hotels will remain closed. Restaurants and fast food stalls may remain open only for takeaway deliveries and serving of customers inside the restaurants has been strictly prohibited, Thejawelie said. He said the shops selling fish, chickens and fowls, pork, beef, mutton etc. will not be allowed to open in the main markets. All such shops have been advised to operate inside the colonies.

In a separate order, Dimapur deputy commissioner Anoop Khinchi on Thursday said plying of auto rickshaws and taxis will be permitted in Dimapur only after receiving approval from the Nagaland government. Khinchi said this during a meeting with the representatives of All Nagaland Taxis Association and Dimapur District Auto Drivers Union in his office.
