The total COVID19 positive cases registered in Meghalaya increased to 295 with detection of more cases on Sunday. Confirming the news, Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sangma in a tweet on Sunday said the state currently has 248 active COVID19 cases and a total of 45 people have recovered. The chief minister informed that out of the total COVID19 cases registered in the state so far, 178 are Border Security Force (BSF) personnel and 70 are non-BSF people including 2 from Air Force and 2 from Air Force.

The deadly disease has so far claimed the lives of two persons including an infant from Arunachal Pradesh, who was admitted to the North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) in Shillong.

According to the Meghalaya health department’s website on COVID19, a total of 23,454 samples have been tested for COVID19, out of which 295 found positive for the virus while 22,902 have tested negative. The reports of 257 tests are awaited.
