Shatabdi Samman award for Dera Natung Govt College teacher

Union minister for law and justice Ravishankar Prasad on Sunday presented Shatabdi Samman award to Dera Natung Government College assistant professor Tumbom Riba. The Shatabdi Samman award was presented to Tumbom Riba for her exemplary works in the field of Hindi literature. The award was conferred upon Riba in a function held at Patna, the capital city of Bihar. Dera Natung Government College was established in 1979 with its erstwhile name ‘Government College, Itanagar’.

The college was set up with an objective of imparting higher education to young and inquisitive men and women of the state at a point of time when the opportunity was scarce in the locality. Apart from making the college a centre of offering degrees, the founders of the college also aimed to let the youths explore new areas of knowledge, providing a platform for budding leadership in all walks of life.
