Samples of 8 returnees to be re-tested in Mizoram
Eight people, who are currently quarantined at a church hall in Lunglei, will be re-tested for COVID-19, an official said. Their samples were collected on Thursday for a test, he said.
According to sources, the inmates had on Tuesday staged fasting allegedly due to delay in their results. Their samples were collected on June 6 after their co-inmate tested positive for COVID-19 on June 4. The 8 inmates staged fasting on Tuesday to mount pressure on the government so that their results are declared at their earliest, the sources said. They have been placed under quarantine since June 1, the sources added.
