Assam reports seventh death

The total number of death due to COVID-19 rose to seven in Assam after a 57-year-old lady, who was undergoing treatment for the infection, succumbed to the infection in Silchar Medical College on Friday.Identified as Mongulirani Das, the deceased was a cancer patient who had recently returned from New Delhi.

She was a resident of Hailakandi, who was later shifted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital after she tested positive for COVID-19.Her last rites were performed in Silchar in the presence of Silchar district administration officials.Assam so far has recorded 3430 COVID-19 cases, of which 1989 are active and 1432 patients have recovered.
