In 21 st century, people are more conscious about the importance of physical and mental well being. The market is inundated with information and various products and medications for diets & detox. However, the authenticity and reliability of these products are always in question.  And consuming any such product, is always a risk, without expert guidance and supervision. While addressing the participants in the webinar she said. “Diet does not only mean not only to eat healthy food but also to consciously avoid unhealthy food. Food has the ability to destroy our cells & energy and also vice versa. Diet should be planned on the basis of culture, lifestyle, atmosphere, etc. Thus it is subject to qualitative analysis.”

She enlisted some ground rules for a balanced and healthy lifestyle:

  • Give up Sugar (Refined or unrefined & directly or Indirectly)
  • Say No to dairy & diary products
  • Include whole grain in food in your meal (Specially brown or red rice & millet)
  • Add a good source of protein (leafy greens and not a protein supplement)
  • Fermented Food at least twice with every a meal is a must.

She also added that “Balanced diet has cured many diseases including cancers also. Overeating, skipping meals, food imbalance & consumption of unhealthy food can result in allergy, acidity, cold, etc. She talked extensively about ‘listening to one’s body, and the signs it threw out.  She also brought out the parallel of the use of Aryuveda, which holistically heals the body and thereby the mind.  She answered to all the queries of the members. Nandita Munshaw, Vice Chairperson of FICCI FLO, gave the welcome address.  After the insightful session, she added jocularly “There will be definitely changes in the Thepla & Undhiya recipes.”
